On the 18th December 2015 from 10.30am onwards, Artcore invites you to join an exciting opportunity to explore and learn the history of the Arboretum Park in Derby through its architectural and ornamental heritage.
Did you know that the Arboretum Park is the first publicly owned park in England? 175 years back the park was donated to the people of Derby. And did you know that the Arboretum’s design was a font of inspiration for the development of the Central Park in New York? These are only few facts among myriads surrounding this incredible park.
Eager to learn more? Want to impress your friends with interesting facts of the community you live in? Then this is a not to miss opportunity! We will visit the Derby Local Studies and Family History Library where you can go through old documents and books (or the internet if you are more of a modern user) and find out what the Arboretum Park was like in the past and understand its significance today.
Looking forward to see you!
